A man of many musical faces: Sound Engineer, Deejay, and Video Editor, Xpert released his latest body of work, Code Blue on April 17th, 2020. It features a variety of talented Grenadian artistes, unique beats, and relatable lyrics on a ten-track album which is targeted towards the fairer sex.

Code Blue flaunts a name that, according to Xpert, was influenced by “the ambiance of the studio while working on this project. Every night I had on only blue lights while producing the beats for the songs”.
Overall, Code Blue takes you on a tizzy of different scenarios that men and women often get into. From the hushed relationships such as Alma Boy’s – “De Low”, which speaks plainly of relationships forced to be kept quiet. V’ghn’s – “Jasmine” scenario, which boasts of a man entertaining a lady while out; he spends money on her and automatically feels entitled to a physical return. To Laura Lisa’s touching number “Over You”, which details moving on from someone you were very much attached to. These scenarios and ones not mentioned make Code Blue a downright relatable body of work.
Xpert’s objective with Code Blue was to put on display the versatility of not only himself but all the artistes involved. To him, extending a helping hand to younger artistes and leading them toward the spotlight is his idea/way of doing more for the music industry in the tri-island state. As for touches of improvement, “I think improvements are needed in the type of music we release year-round… So far, I’ve seen a lot of improvement, so I know we’re getting there, it’s just up to the listeners to warm up to the changes.”
Artistes featured on Code Blue are Alma Boy, Laura Lisa, Cjae, V’ghn, Rick HK, Triple, Boyzie, and the man himself, Xpert. The album was also worked on by his brother, John James, who handled the mixing and mastering of the tracks.
