Finally, our HERO is coming home to Trinidad and Tobago!
‘HERO: The Extraordinary Life & Times of Mr. Cross’ is officially coming to the CinemaOne IMAX Theatre in Trinidad and Tobago in April 2022. The documentary was inspired by Ulric Cross, a young man from Trinidad who leaves his island home to seek his fortune. He emerges from World War II as the RAF’s most decorated West Indian. Cross’ long life spanned key moments of the 20th century including independence in African and Caribbean countries. Shot in Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana, and the United Kingdom, the film is not just about his life but of the extraordinary and transformative times that he lived in, and tells the untold story of those Caribbean professionals who helped to liberate African counties from colonialism.
The film was written and directed by Britain-born, Trinidadian filmmaker Frances-Anne Solomon, and executive produced by media maven, Lisa Wickham (international film credits ‘Home Again’ – 2012, and ‘Girlfriends Getaway’ – 2014). The all-star international HERO cast also includes Trinidad and Tobago’s Nickolai Salcedo, in the lead role of Ulric Cross, alongside Canada’s Peter Williams (Stargate SG1 ), UK stars Joseph Marcell (Fresh Prince of Bel Air ), Fraser James (Resident Evil), Pippa Nixon (John Carter), and Ghanaian superstars John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang, and Prince David Oseia.
