Trinbagonian Actor, Winston Duke New Netflix Movie Is Number One

If you were glued to Netflix over the past weekend, you are probably one of the millions of viewers who tuned into the premiere of the new Action-Comedy film ‘Spenser Confidential’ which stars Trinbagonian actor Winston Duke, alongside American Actor and Producer Mark Wahlberg. The film was released on March 6, 2020 and to date has already seized the number one spot on Netflix in the following countries- Trinidad & Tobago, United States, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Spain and Germany, just to name a few countries.

This is Winston Duke’s first time starring in a Netflix movie since he first stole our hearts on screen with his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies ‘Black Panther’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’‘Avengers: Endgame’ and the Jordan Peele’s horror film ‘Us’.

In his new Netflix film, Duke’s plays a no-nonsense fighter named Hawk who is recruited by Spenser, played by Mark Wahlberg, to help him investigate the murder of two of Spenser’s colleagues and bring the culprits to justice.

 

 

2020 is off to a great start for the Tobagonian- born actor. Outside of his first Netflix movie feature, you can find Duke also starring in the 2020 science fiction film ‘Nine Days’, which was recently acquired by Sony Pictures Classics, following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last month. In some more major news for the actor, he is among the award recipients to be honoured this year at the Sun Valley Film Festival. According to Variety.com, Winston Duke will receive the Rising Star Award at this year’s festival which takes place on March 18-22.
