Out In South’ Cooler Fete 2019

Written by: Nekisha Cyrus

The 6th edition of the premium Carnival Cooler Experience ‘Out in South’, has been labelled as one of the best carnival fetes for the season thus far by patrons. Although, some were disappointed with the parking situation and heavy traffic to and from the event, the majority were not fazed.

The event was held this year at the Brian Lara Stadium and as usual featured an amazing cast line-up of top Soca Artistes and DJ’s including Kes the band, Voice, Nessa Preppy, Private Ryan, Shal Marshall and many more.

However, the main highlight of the night came from the King of Soca himself, Machel Montano who stole the show when he performed ‘Famalay’ for the 1st time this season alongside Bunji Garlin and Skinny Fabulous in an epic live performance.

Machel also performed his controversial soca diss track ‘Dr. Mashup’, in response to Iwer George’s ‘Road March Bacchanal’. And even gave a preview of his 2019 Road March song, saying that he is going for his 10th Road March title.

The lyrical assassin, Bunji Garlin later took the stage in a solo performance treating the crowd to an impromptu freestyle session as he entertained them briefly while experiencing some minor technical difficulties.

With six successful events and the growing support of patrons each year, it is safe to say that ‘Out in South’ has solidify its place in the carnival feting circuit. A special thank you the Air Committee management and staff. For further updates on upcoming events follow them on social media.
