Thankful to be Alive and Well!
Three-time Winner and Reigning Soca Monarch King Voice celebrated his golden birthday with his fans and friends at his third annual concert event held on Friday 28th, December at the Government Campus Plaza.
This year’s theme was called ‘CAVANAL’ which was named after the tallest hill in the world.
The support was overwhelming, with a turnout so huge that Fire Officers and Officials had to later on prevent patrons from entering the event to ensure that there was no overcrowding of the venue for safety precautions.
Accompanied by a live band and female dancers, Voice performed a medley of his popular songs including- ‘Cheers to Life’, ‘Year for Love’ and ‘Full of Vibes’.
Later changing up the vibes with a heartfelt acoustic ‘Far from Finished’ performance as the crowd sang every word. He also performed his brand new release ‘Madness’ featuring Soca Legend David Rudder.
This was nothing short of a true concert experience filled with love, memorable moments and real raw emotions. As Voice thanked his fans for their continuous support throughout his career he broke down in tears while performing ‘Alive and Well’ for the second time before he closed the show.
The event was hosted by Television & Radio personality Sunny Bling and featured guest performances from popular Soca Stars and DJ’s such as Shal Marshal, Blaxx, Private Ryan and many others.
Sekon Sta gave a brief taste of what is to be expected at his first ever concert event ‘Sekon Sunday’ being held on January 13th, 2019. Nadia Batson had the crowd singing every line of her 2019 soca anthem ‘So Long’. Iwer George gave the crowd an unexpected surprise as he decided to join them for his performance.
Other notable sites of the night were the Kaisokah Mokojumbies and Yuma Carnival 2019 costumes on display.
As the San Juan Youth man said, this event was the perfect way to end the year and kick off Carnival 2019.
A Special thank you to Voice and his Management team, and Y Media TT (Photography).
