Guyanese American Rapper SAINt JHN Gets Triple Video Music Awards Nominations

With already two Grammy Awards titles under his belt for 2021, Guyanese-born, US-based rapper, SAINt JHN has been nominated for three 2021 Video Music Awards (VMA)s. SAINt JHN whose rename is Carlos St. John Phillips, is nominated for and is well-position to win the VMA’s Best R&B Video of the Year for  ‘Brown Skin Girl’, which he wrote; he shares this nomination with Beyonce and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter who lent their voices to the song. The video, which takes an artistic look at colorism, has also been nominated for its compelling cinematography. Besides ‘Brown Skin Girl’, SAINt JHN’s other song, ‘Gorgeous’, has been nominated for ‘Push Performer’ of the Year.

SAINt JHN who is proud of his Guyanese heritage having spent a significant part of his formative years growing up in Guyana is at the top of his game. With these recent successes, he has decided that now is as good a time as any to go on tour. Writing to his 80,000 followers on Twitter, JHN tweeted: “I’m going on tour, I don’t have ANY of it figured out. And have NO CLUE what I’m doing. HONESTLY! But I know time is short and life is a rollercoaster. In Case We Both Die Young, see you soon.”

The tour is scheduled to run from October 19th to November 30th in major North American cities; check his website for further details.

Also, the “94 Bentley” Guyanese-American rapper, is on a couple of leaves in GQ magazine. With ‘The Weeknd’ on the cover, in the “The 33 Biggest Fits and Flyest Pieces of Fall”, SAINt JHN can be seen photographed in the first-ever Gucci and Balenciaga collab! The two-piece black-on-black fit hugs his slim but toned physique as he sports a Balenciaga bag which some have made their duty to call a purse.
