Grenada’s Soulful Artist Jeverson To Release New Single, “Somethin’ In The Water”

Written by: Denise Zavitson

St. George, Grenada/Feb 8, 2022 – Grenada’s native son, JEVERSON, will release his new single, “Somethin’ In The Water,” worldwide on Friday, February 18th. It is the artist’s fifth original work, written by Jeverson and co-written/produced by Nick Lotto. The song was recorded in Grenada at Blue Hide Studios.

Inspired by the artist’s love of his homeland, the song is an ode to the world-famous, white-sand beaches, the friendly and relaxed Island vibe, and the “magic” in the water that surrounds the island.
“I think being a Grenadian is a vibe,” said Jeverson, “and I wanted to capture that chill, island time, the easy-going vibe that I get from being home. I’ve always wanted to sing soulful music and I think I’ve found a simple balance between island vibe and soul/funk.”

When I ain’t got a dollar
I still got that good good feelin’
There must be somethin’ in the water.
She won’t leave, won’t leave me alone
She’s beggin’ me to take her home
There must be somethin’ in the water

Over the past 10 years, Jeverson has become a household name and a sought-after performer. He performed at many of Grenada’s most distinguished events including the “Pure Grenada Music Festival”. Jeverson also represented Grenada at the Beijing Horticulture Exposition in 2019 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics through the song “Inspired,” recorded with fellow Grenadian artist, Sabrina Francis.

Although Jeverson has performed regularly at top venues throughout Grenada for the past 10 years, he only started writing and recording his own music in 2018 following an encounter with Nashville-based music publisher/producer, Russ Zavitson on Grand Anse Beach. According to Jeverson, the quarantine brought about with Covid actually gave him space to practice and hone his newfound craft.
“My inspiration for “Somethin’ In the Water,” is actually an area on Grand Anse Beach where I’ve met some amazing people and some of those people have really changed my life. That title line, “somethin’ in the water,” is really about the magic I’ve found right there on that beach. It’s where I met Russ and the same spot where I met my producer and co-writer, Nick Lotto.”

“Somethin’ In the Water,” will be among the six songs that will appear on Jeverson’s debut EP scheduled for release on Mar 25, 2022 . He was signed to internationally renowned talent agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in September 2021. He is currently working on additional music and making plans for a U.S. tour in March 2022.
