What does the fastest man in the world do when he’s retired?
Word on the street is that Usain Bolt has up his sleeve plans for a follow-up album to his debut album, Country Yutes! The eight-time gold medal winner since retiring from the track has been putting his energy towards new ventures for a couple of years now. In 2018, he shortly went into professional football and after having made two appearances in the Australian football club, Central Coast Mariners, he left in eight weeks despite being given an open-ended contract.
“Music is just a part of me. In lockdown, I wasn’t doing much so I thought I could take the opportunity to get into music as it is something that I love to do. I wanted to do a proper body of work and put it out there”, said the Olympian. When it came to being taken seriously in the music space Usain, now 35 years old, said, “For me, the album we made was just to show people we were serious. When we started people thought I was kidding and bored of doing nothing, but I wanted to let them know that I was serious”.
Revealing that he’s all in when it comes to this upcoming album, Bolt said: “Now we have done that (putting out Country Yutes), people are reaching out to work with us so I am going to be doing a lot more this year.” According to the Olympian, he’s a perfectionist in everything he embarks, so right now his focus is being a dad to his three kids and becoming one of music’s successful producers.
Caribbean Entertainment Hub is tuned all the way into the journey to the next album, stay tuned to this space to get the details! Till then, check out this release which sits comfortably upwards of 1.4 million views!
