Trinidadian Reggae & Dancehall Singer, Jahllano and Professional Dancer/ Choreographer Melinda Etienne are amongst the list of official nominees at the 2020 African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA).
The AEAUSA has been honoring African’s excellence since 2015 with over thirty (30) awards presented each year during a two-day event which takes place in New Jersey. The Awards celebrates and honors practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including Entertainment, Entrepreneurship and Community Leadership.
This year, Laventille-born singer, real name Llano Grant has been nominated in the ‘Best Male Artist’ category. Known for hit songs like ‘War Dem Want’ and ‘Need a Change’, Jahllano joins the list of (10) other nominees which includes African superstars such as WizKid, Davido, Burna Boy, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

Although the nomination came as a surprise to his management team, the Hilltop Entertainment artiste shared the following sentiments while announcing the news via an Instagram post recently:
‘Firstly, I’d like to thank Jah for this…then I say thanks to my family, my team, friends and fans.
I need your help with this, every vote counts. So to all my supporters and to all my Trinbago ppl, let’s do this together.
I’m very humbled to be nominated for ‘Best Male Artist’ for the African Entertainment Awards USA’.
Also urging fans to vote and bring home the title is Trinidadian Dancer, Melinda Etienne. The 23 year old professional dancer is nominated at this year’s AEAUSA in the ‘Best Dancer/Group’ category which also features (10) other nominees.

Melinda possesses a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the performing arts with a major in Dance. She is also the owner of the Melinda Etienne Dance Company and have worked with many of Trinidad’s Top Soca stars including Machel Montano, Nailah Blackman, Lyrikal & more.
CEH edit: Since our feature was published, Caribbean Entertainment Hub learned that also joining the list of the 2020 AEAUSA nominees is Trinidadian Dancehall Artiste, KG Muzik. The ‘My Team’ singer has been nominated in the ‘Best Upcoming/ Local Artist’ category alongside acts from around the world. KG has been on the music scene for some time now both in front and behind the camera, as he is also the owner of the Reality Films Company, well known for producing some of the top music video productions in Trinidad & Tobago.
