Since being a young girl, Amanda Ingrid Seales has been in front of the camera. Her impressive catalog includes Nickelodeon “My Brother and Me”, Russell Simmons’ “Def Poetry Jam”, MTV2 “Sucker Free Countdown Sunday”, and playing Tiffany DuBois on HBO’s “Insecure”.  Now the comedian and actress can add to her long list of accomplishment, Hostess for the 2020 BET Awards.

Though born in California, United States, Amanda Seales considers Grenada home. Both her and her mother, who was born and raised in Mt. Moritz, Grenada are dual citizens of the United States  and Grenada.

Hosting Award-Shows is nothing new to Seales.  In 2019, she hosted Fox’s ‘The Real’ alongside Tamera Mowry, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai  and Loni Love. Six months later, however, she parted ways with the show due to creative differences with the producers.

Seales, who is a strong advocate for Black voices, was a touring member of the group ‘Floetry’. She also hosts her own show, ‘Smart, Funny & Black’, and does the podcast ‘Small Doses’ which came on the tail of her successful book “Small Doses: Potent Truths for Everyday Use”.

Other noteworthy achievements of Amanda are staring in her own HBO comedy special called “I Be Knowin” and having a master’s degree in African-American studies with a concentration in Hip-Hop. All her accomplishments were achieved by her 39th birthday which she celebrated on July 1st, 2020.

We at Caribbean Entertainment Hub salute Amanda Ingrid Seales for proudly representing and promoting  the Caribbean in her endeavors.
