With his aim to make his annual parang event the Machel Monday of Parang, after the huge success witnessed on Saturday night, ‘Parang with Rome’ is well on its way to becoming just that.
What started off as a fun backyard lime following a video shoot three years ago, has now evolved into the annual event known as ‘Parang With Rome’. On Saturday 21st December 2019, the Woodford Café came to a festive explosion of parang music hosted by Rome and his management team- Perception Management.
The place was packed, patrons were fashionable dressed with some even wearing their Santa Claus hats ready to party and have a great night with Rome and his amazing cast. The line-up included guest artistes, popular DJ’s and even a few hidden surprises. Check out our CEH exclusive album below.
Known for his well-loved controversial and catchy songs, the man of the night, kicked off the live performances with his very first release ‘Lickah’, before he dived into some crowd favourites like ‘Apoo’ and this year’s soca parang anthem ‘China’.
The live performances also included many of his fellow soca parang artistes and friends including Kiegs, Wilky and Myron B who equally stole the show.
One of the major highlights of the night came when Soca parang legend, Crazy performed a few of his classic songs. Rome even later joined him on stage and hailed him as the inventor of soca parang music.
And what is a soca parang fete without the Queen of Soca Parang music, the beautiful Marcia Miranda performing many classics from her revered catalogue such as ‘Bring Out D Ham’, ‘Gimme Love Fuh Xmas’ and many more.
Also making a guest appearance was Chutney Soca Star Ravi B and Soca Veteran Iwer George who also had the crowd in a feting mood. Rome later returned to the stage to perform. He partied with the crowd before thanking them for their support over the years and for making his event a huge success. As he gave them a taste of his 2020 soca release ‘Good, Good’, he reminded them that he is also a soca artiste, and announced that he will be having his first soca event ‘Big Bad Blocko’ on January 3rd, 2020 at the Centre of Excellence.
Closing off the show, Rome stated that our Christmas culture has the potential to reach very far, because just like carnival it is a very unique experience and we totally agree. Caribbean Entertainment Hub will like to congratulate Rome and his management team on their successful event.
