As this year’s International Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM) enters the final stage, the cream of the crop has risen to the top. 15 of the Best Chutney Soca songs of the season are left competing against each other. As each song is well written and arranged with captivating instrumentation, many by ‘Big Rich’ in “D Pungalunks Factory”, it will depend on the performance on the night to produce a winner.
Favorites for the crown are last year’s winner GI – “Wa We Go Do”, Master Saleem – “Let’s Have A Drink”, and Kenneth Salick with his mega-hit – “She Want Ah 4×4 Van”. For the Queen of Chutney Soca, the ones to watch are Nisha Ramsook – “Lion On Stage”, and Ramrajie Prabhoo -“Boodlal Boy”. But you can take a listen and you decide for yourself.
The 15 finalists of 10 men and women will compete on February 26th at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts in San Fernando. For more details, check out our article – International Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM) 2022 Final: A Rival Of Families
