This year’s International Chutney Soca Monarch (CSM) final has turned into a rival of families as 5 out of the 15 contestants are from 2 families. A mother, Ramrajie Prabhu, and her two sons, Neeshan “Hitman” and Navin, known as “D Prince” will be trying to defeat Imran “GI” Beharry last year‘s winner, and his brother Master Saleem the first runner up.
The event is scheduled for February 26th at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts in San Fernando. Southex Events, the promoter of the CSM competition, has gone all out to make this year’s event one to remember.
“The Final will be hosted by our very own ‘Nah’ news anchor, Kenneth Supersad, and Big Rich D Pungalunks. All artistes will be backed up by Kishore ‘Wizzy’ Ramdath and Avatar the Band,” Southex said.
“There will be an all-inclusive weekend giveaway for one lucky viewer by Tropikist Beach Hotel and Resort and lots of hampers and a special door prize from Dansteel Limited,” Southex said.
Besides the Soca Monarch title, the five female finalists will be competing for the Queen of Chutney Soca title, which will be given to the top female perfomer. Nisha Ramsook is the defending Queen of Chutney Soca.
