Koffee Makes History With Grammy Best Reggae Album Nomination

At just 19 years old Jamaican Reggae Sensation, Koffee just became the youngest artiste to receive a Grammy nomination in the ‘Best Reggae Album’ category. Not only is she the youngest artiste to be nominated in this category, but she is also the third female singer to ever do so.

It came as no surprise to fans, as the support for Koffee has been outpouring since the songstress burst onto the reggae scene and our hearts in 2017, and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down since. With her very first Grammy nomination for her first EP album ‘Rapture’ which features her first hit single ‘Toast’, seems like Koffee is on the path to greatness.

Koffee’s Grammy nomination puts the young songstress amongst veterans Reggae artists/bands who are past winners and nominees. The official nominees for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards ‘Best Reggae Album’ category includes:
1. Rapture – Koffee
2. As I Am – Julian Marley
3. The Final Battle: Sly & Robbie vs. Roots Radics – Sly and Robbie & Roots Radics
4. Mass Manipulation – Steel Pulse
5. More Work to Be Done – Third World.

According to Jamaica.com, this will be Julian Marley’s second nomination, as he was nominated in 2009 for the Grammy Best Reggae Album for the album ‘Awake’. Sly & Robbie won the Grammy Best Reggae Album in 1998 for the album ‘Friends’ and this will be their 12th Grammy nomination. Steel Pulse won the Grammy Best Reggae Album in 1986 for their album ‘Babylon the Bandit’ and this will be their 9th Grammy nomination. And this will be Third World’s 9th Grammy Best Reggae Album nomination.
