Written by: Nekisha Cyrus

At a press conference held recently in Trinidad, Soca power couple Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin announced the launching of their new online entertainment platform, ‘Chrending’.

The aim of the platform is to provide Caribbean artistes and creatives who continues to be affected by Covid-19, with a space to showcase their talents while providing a means for monetization and for them to potentially earn an income.

‘Chrending’ is derived from a colloquial play on the word ‘Trending’. Fay-Ann stated that the platform though originated in Trinidad and Tobago is open to the entire Caribbean. Bunji also shared that the project has been in development for over three months and the aim is for it to be a home for the Caribbean creative industry.

Also involved in the development of ‘Chrending’ is the Gillette Group of Companies who have offered their website and app building skills to the project. ‘Chrending’ will be launched in the following three phases:

1st phase- Press conference/ social media launch on December 1st, 2020.

2nd phase- Launch of the website on December 28th, 2020.

3rd phase- Launch of the app on January 15th, 2021.
