Written by: Nekisha Cyrus

‘She didn’t just break the record, she smashed it’

These were the words from Kelly Ripa, co-host of the American syndicated morning talk show ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ after witnessing Trinidadian Limbo Queen, Shemika Campbell set her 3rd Guinness World Record.

The record breaking moment was witnessed by many live via skype as Shemika at the Queen’s Park Savannah danced under two jeeps to set the limbo dance Guinness World Record for the furthest distance in the limbo position of 12 feet below a height of 12 inches. Achieving this new distance , Shemika broke her own previously set Guinness Record of 10 feet, 3 inches, which was accomplished in 2016 in Beijing, China. (See full video below)

Fun Fact: Did you know that Shemika Campbell is also the undisputed Queen of Limbo and still holds her first world record title which she earned in 2010 for the lowest female limbo dancer in the world? A feat which she accomplished being the first person to limbo under a car? Yes, I said a under a car….8.5 inches to be exact. Wow…just beyond amazing!

Shemika has been dancing the limbo professionally since the age of 14 years old and have appeared on shows such as ‘The Ellen Show’, ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’ and ‘America’s Got Talent’. Here’s a little limbo queen throwback action for you to enjoy.
