Meet Fede ‘Rich Rasta’ Ruben, a Trinidadian-born Recording Artiste, Songwriter, Entrepreneur, and Retired Chef who is currently based in Ontario, Canada. Hailing from the beautiful twin isles of Trinidad and Tobago, he is paying homage to his roots through his music and bringing back the sweet sound of calypso music but with a modern twist to it.
With his Caribbean roots playing a huge influence on his artistry, he has always dreamed of representing his heritage on the global stage through his beats, lyrical artistry, and drawing inspiration from calypso for his creative process while adding his own modern touch to it. For Fede, moving to a different country helped him move closer to fulfilling his music goals while providing him with many opportunities for him to introduce calypso and its rich history to a demographic that might not have been familiar with the genre before.
Fede recently bagged a huge international endorsement with Aria Noir, a Toronto-based apparel company that provides a unique selection of fashion sunglasses, designer shoes, sweaters, and more. Presently, he is gearing up to release his highly-anticipated album ‘Eleven:11’, with new singles off the album dropping before the end of 2022. Additionally, Fede and his crew are also looking forward to his annual Soca Boat Party called “SOCA in MUSKOKA” in mid-August.
Truly, Fede has come a long way from his humble beginnings to representing his roots on the international stage. While joining us recently on Season 3 of Caribbean Entertainment Hub Weekly Instagram Live series ‘The E-Hub’, he talked about his musical career and journey, his songwriting experience which include him writing for Soca star Kes, his clothing brand, new album, and also gave some very informative industry advice. Check out the full fun and informative interview below!
His 2018 single ‘Reverse’ has already racked up over 521, 000 views on YouTube.
