Who runs the world…Girls, or should we say Women?
And when it comes to the music scene, particularly the DJ circuit in Trinidad and Tobago these women are making their presence known in a space that would normally be dominated by men. With headphones on and laptops loaded, DJ Ana, DJ Duchess, DJ Reecie Tee, DJ Charlotte, and many other female DJs continue to leave their musical stamp not only in T&T but internationally as well.
Today, Caribbean Entertainment Hub would like to give these amazing ladies their much-deserved musical flowers as they continue to pave the way for the women in their field while taking our Caribbean culture to new musical heights.
DJ ANA
First up we have ‘The Glam Jam’ Queen herself, the one and only Ana-Leesa Ramnarine, popularly known as ‘DJ Ana’. DJ Ana is a Canadian-born, Trinbagonian-based DJ who has been on the scene for over 15 plus years. Her passion for music started at the tender age of 10 years old and to date, she has toured and performed in Japan, Dubai, New York, Miami, Orlando, Canada, Guyana, Cayman Islands, Barbados, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and other places.
Not only is Ana-Leesa Ramnarine a well-loved celebrity DJ, but she also wears the following hats- Music Producer, Host, Actress, Designer, and Talent Manager. Outside of touring, Ana can also be seen alongside former Captain of the West Indies Cricket Team turned Artiste, DJ Bravo. In 2023, DJ Ana alongside her Glam Jam Radio Co-host Ultra Simmo officially launched their first ever J’ouvert band ‘Glam Jam J’ouvert’ which took home the 3rd place ‘Band of the Year’ and the ‘Best New J’ouvert Band’ titles.

CELEBRITY DJ DUCHESS
Alicia Awai who is popularly known by many as ‘DJ Alicia D’ Duchess’ or ‘Celebrity DJ Duchess’ has over 15 plus years in the music business locally, and internationally. Alicia hails from Diamond Vale, Diego Martin and started in the business at the tender age of 11 years old. By the age of 14, she had already copped not one, but two consecutive Fresh Fest Mix Master Champion winner titles.
DJ Alicia’s broadcasting resume includes Power 102 FM, 98.9FM, and Hott 93.5FM making her to date, one of the most recognized and sort after DJs in the bizz. When it comes to touring, Alicia has performed in New York, Miami, Boston, Washington, Toronto, Montreal, London, Jamaica, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Antigua, St. Kitts, Grenada, and many more places.
Yes, this Diamond Vale girl has been keeping extremely busy; Alicia has expanded her brand to hosting her very own event. She is the host of the popular annual ‘Vale Vibe Breakfast Event’ and the ‘Vale Vibe Cooler Fete’, which is held each year at the quaint Bayview location along the North Coast Road which leads to Maracas Bay. This year’s event included live performances from Bunji Garlin, Iwer George, Alison Hinds, and many more big soca acts. Now Alicia is bringing the Vale Vibe to you as the event has expanded to countries including Orlando, Atlanta & New York.

DJ REECIE TEE
As the daughter of one of Trinidad’s household names and most prominent DJ’s, ‘Howie Tee’, Reecie Tee was destined for musical stardom. Today, this young, talented diva is making her own path and creating a name for herself as DJ REECIE TEE. Some of you may recognize her as the versatile and bright hair colored female DJ touring with one of Trinidad’s biggest superstars, Nailah Blackman, and performing alongside Radio Personality/ Host Whitney Husbands.
Reecie Tee is also the official brand ambassador for the Magnum Tonic Wine TT. Her broadcasting resume to date includes Next 99.1FM and presently Red 96.7FM. Yes, this young Female DJ is on the path to breaking musical barriers both locally and internationally. She has toured and performed in London, Canada, Jamaica, Guyana, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, Suriname and many more.
On Easter Sunday (9th April 2023) you can find Reecie Tee along Whitney Husband representing for the ladies at the highly anticipated ‘Clash of the Generations’ at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya. DJ CHARLOTTE
And finally, we have the fun and electric Charlotte Chadee, popularly known as ‘DJ Charlotte’ who is definitely a force to be reckoned with as her musical talent and personality make her extremely difficult to ignore. Charlotte fell in love with music and deejaying at the age of 15 years old. What started as a hobby when a few of her friends started a music group to play at small events, and birthday parties, quickly turned into a passion and now a career she loves.
To date, her broadcasting resume includes Slam 100.5FM. Not only does DJ Charlotte wear the hat of a Female DJ, but she is also a Producer, a Creative, and a Brand Ambassador for brands such as White Oak and Kotex (where she is a part of the Kotex ‘End Period Stigma’ National Campaign). She is also one of YUMA Carnival’s headline road DJs who has performed in some of the country’s biggest events regionally and internationally.
