I mean, she did say she is a ‘Trending Gyal’🤷
From collaborations with some big names in the game (Gwen Stefani, Sean Paul, 21 Savage, Kanye West, Tarrus Riley, Wizkid, Chris Brown), to lawsuits filed against her and in between facing serious allegations brought against someone close to her and landing a deal with a big brand, Shenseea has been busy. Let’s get down to business – but first, the music business.
Let’s take it back.
In March of this year, Shenseea was hit with a US$10 million lawsuit over the song done with Megan Thee Stallion called ‘Lick’. Shenseea and her label were sued over the clearance of Denise ‘Saucy Wow’ Belfon’s hit ‘Work’. The issue arose when the catchy and well-known Saucy Wow line “put your back in it” can be heard multiple times in Lick’s chorus. Fast forwarding to today; Shenseea now faces another lawsuit. This time it was filed against her for her video and song ‘Foreplay’. Bringing the US$450, 000 lawsuit against the Upset artiste is Stephanie Sarley, who is a contemporary American multimedia artist known for her surrealistic humor. Stephanie is based in Los Angeles, California, and is seeking financial compensation for the damages done and coverage of legal fees. She claims that Shenseea stole her artwork and used it in her music video without her consent. This latest lawsuit was filed in October against the original Foreplay video, which has been removed from YouTube. It alleges the video boasts of Sarley’s work for “nearly forty seconds of footage”.
As if that wasn’t enough; Shenseea, apart from her music business woes also faces allegations brought against her son, Rajeiro Lee. It had been rumored for some time that Shenseea is romantically linked to famous producer London On Da Track. The mother of London’s daughter, Eboni Ivory, told Shenseea to keep her 7-year-old son, Rajeiro, away from her daughter. Eboni posted on her Instagram story: “I’m saying Loud and Clear and I mean it from the bottom of my soul @shenseea you and your little nasty son stay away from my daughter,”… “@shenseea you need to talk to your son and take him to therapy before he grows up and gets into real trouble. In the meantime, I’m saying Loud and Clear again @shenseea keep yourself and your son AWAY from My Daughter for the rest of your life.”
However on a more positive note, Shenseea last week announced to her 5.9 million followers that she landed her dream car, a Lamborghini Urus. Fun fact: It’s only her and Michael Jordan with that specific model. Then, just a couple of days later, on November 22nd, she announced her partnership with JD Sports US and Adidas. Recently she also announced that she will be performing at what’s been deemed the Oscars of Porn, the AVN Awards. Set to be held on January 7th, 2023 in Las Vegas, about the upcoming performance on adult entertainment’s biggest stage, Shenseea said: “I am very excited to be performing at this year’s AVN Awards. I just know the energy is going to be amazing that night.”
Finally, on Saturday, November 26th, Shenseea will be the headlining feature at the concert ‘Fire and Ice’ which is scheduled to be held in Grenada at the National Stadium.
