Rihanna To Headline 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show

With her tattooed hand rising an official NFL football on her Instagram account, Rihanna signifies that she will be headlining the 2023 Super Bowl. LVII halftime show.

The NFL confirmed this soon after with the same photo posted across their social platforms, with the caption, “Let’s GO @badgalriri @rocnation #SBLBII @applemusic @nflonfox

The 2023 Super Bowl will be held at State Farm Stadium outside of Phoenix, Arizona on Feb. 12.

This is the first year that Apple Music will serve as a sponsor for the halftime show, replacing Pepsi after their decade-long association that transformed the event. Jay-Z’s Roc Nation will be helping to produce the halftime extravaganza for the third consecutive year.

“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment,” Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter said, in a release from the NFL.

And from Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage, Rihanna is a once in a generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”

The last 2022 Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show which included some of hip hops greatest acts:  Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar achieved five Creative Arts Emmy nominations and won three Creative Arts Emmys, including outstanding live variety special;  a first-ever for the Halftime show. Roc Nation will have to dig deep to produce a show to equal or surpass this last one.

Past Superbowl Halftime performances include: the Weeknd, Jennifer, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry Bruno Mars, Prince, Beyonce, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, and more
