Reigning Calypso Monarch Terri Lyons Celebrates with Stars At ‘I Am Lion’ Concert

Written by: Nekisha 'Neicy' Cyrus

It was a night to remember, as the Reigning Calypso Monarch Terri Lyons shutdown the stage as she celebrated her first ever concert titled ‘I am Lion’ which was held on Sunday 19th, November 2022 at the Naparima Bowl Auditorium, San Fernando.

The concert event which was also a part of the San Fernando City Week Celebrations featured some of the country’s top Calypso, Soca & Gospel Artistes. The star line up on the night included Cro Cro, Karene Ashe, Maria Bhola, Brian London, Shamika (Tobago), Preedy, Collegeboy Jesse, Dev, Viking Ding Dong, Rae, Terron, Blessed Messenger, Nisa, Akeita Williams and many more.

Guests were also treated on the night to a few surprise live performances which included Patrice Roberts, Ricardo Drue, Nadia Batson, Kes  Dieffenthaller and the living Legend himself, the one and only High Priest of SuperBlue.

Terri Lyons who many didn’t know was quite the comedian as she labelled herself a musical clown, lol, had patrons laughing throughout the night during her performances. Taking her audience on a nostalgic trip down memory she performed many of her calypso and soca songs such as ‘Obeah’, ‘Meghan My Dear’, ‘Black & Ugly’, ‘Fling Bam Bam’, ‘Doh Judge Meh, ‘I am Lion’, ‘Calypso’ and more (see below).

Terri also brought her son on stage near the closing of the show, while acknowledging that he is the reason she works so hard. The night was truly an amazing witnessing of the growth of Terri Lyons both as a vocalist and performer. Although it was the first of many, Terri definitely left a stamp solidifying her concert as a must-attend event annually.

We at Caribbean Entertainment Hub was truly grateful to be a part of this spectacular night and we look forward to continuing to support Terri and her future endeavors.
