Nailah Blackman has launched her first full-length album.

Teknique which was launched in New York on Wednesday, September 21st is an 18-track album containing a mixture of genres:  soca, dancehall, Afrobeats, Amapiano, and pop.

In expressing her thoughts and feelings about the album Nailah reveals:

“I wanted an album to start the reveal of the deep well that is my talent. I want to make good music, explore my craft and artistry. It takes skill to have balance between passion and mainstream. The ability to turn tears into mastery, the capability to free yourself of limitations of expectations. This is my mark, my expertise, and I’m just getting started. Teknique!!”

In a press release, she also said that the album incorporates all of the cultural influences encountered on her travels around the world and that every song tells stories of her life and relationships that are often contradictory.

Two video releases from the album are ‘Wine Low’ and the Zess influenced ‘Teknique’ featuring Father Phillis & Salty.
