The CoronaVirus pandemic has affected the entertainment industry adversely across the globe, but at least one artiste in Trinidad and Tobago remains hopeful and is ready to share the music she has created for her debut EP before 2020 ends.

Nadia Ramos is a dynamic young singer and songwriter, creative artiste and entrepreneur from Trinidad and Tobago bursting onto the music scene in 2020 with No Warning – her debut EP. Passionate about being productive, Ramos recorded an ambitious 25-minute soundtrack rich in fluid poetry and enhanced by diverse soundscapes crafted by T&T cyclist and producer, Azikwe “ZZ” Kellar.

“The Covid-19 virus has taken away so many of our freedoms,” said Ramos. “From the freedom to travel and to do business, to the privileges of our daily existence and even the small ones that we very much took for granted – like the ability to just be… But this shake-up has also forced us to become more aware of what is really important; how precious life and time is, and it has reminded us that we still have the right to dream and to chase after those dreams…”

A former gymnast, dancer and one-time actress on 2015’s ‘The Apartment’ sitcom, Ramos actually got a fresh taste for making music, while performing a 15-second acapella verse during ‘The Apartment’ acting gig. Previously, she developed her vocal ability singing and dancing in school plays and pageants during her adolescence. Ramos also enjoyed performing and later dove into recording original music while attending college in Miami, Florida.

Returning home to sweet T&T after graduating, Ramos continued to be inspired by life experiences and compiled original singles and music videos over the past few years before creating and releasing her first studio EP entitled, No Warning.

“With all the extra time generated by the pandemic lockdown – that came suddenly and with No Warning,” Ramos added, “I decided to let my creativity flow freely and these songs are the results of that.”
