Tony Cuttz definitely has the chops for pop. His latest release ‘Why’ is basically a pop song with a sprinkling of chutney for flavoring; this fusion is commonly referred to as ‘groovy chutney’. In ‘Why’ Tony Cutz displays his vocal prowess and his ability to connect with a ballad and expose his tender side.
Like many groovy chutney songs ‘Why’ centers around the pain of a heartbroken lover left alone by the sudden departure of their lover. This theme has gained popularity with many chutney fans and racks up millions of views for these songs. Vacadi Singh’s “Never Gonna Leave” with over 8 million views on Youtube in 7 months serves as an example to many chutney artistes.
After only being released for a week, ‘Why’ already has over 100k views on YouTube with comments like:
Rehanna Baksh:
“Watch out Ravi B, Tony cuttz coming through with hits after hits!!! waiting for a collab 🙌🔥🔥🔥 😍👌👏😎”
Sherifa Yacub:
“Tony u nailed it boi love all ur songs ur songs does really put me in a mood 🔥💕
Veronica Bhrams:

No Chutney soca list will be complete without the ‘Rum loving’ tracks. This month contains a few of these together with a ‘Doubles loving’ track by Crazy and Tempo. Take a listen and enjoy.
