Terri Lyons celebrates Calypso music.

As her history-making reign continues as the longest National Calypso Monarch Queen, Terri is giving us all a lesson in the true meaning of the art form that is calypso in her new 2021 release entitled ‘Calypso’.

Produced by Ato Williams and mastered by Zig Boi and 5 Line Production, the song which was written by Terri takes you on a rhythmic and emotional journey, reintroducing you to the founding essence that is ‘Kaiso’.

One thing is for certain, that Calypso will and forever be embedded in the hearts and culture of the people of Trinbago and the Caribbean.

With that said, we at CEH will like to take a moment to pay our respects to another Queen who has contributed to this art form in so many ways, the icon, the late great, Queen Singing Sandra.

Because of the cancellation of Carnival and with no official calypso competitions, the crop of calypsoes for this year was greatly reduced. But for the pure love of the music, some like Terri Lyons still put pen to paper to supply calypso lovers with their annual stable of this unique art form.
