Hall

Actor: Rommel Hall

December 16th, 1984. The small island of Barbados is rocked by the news of the bloody murder of white plantation owner Cyril Sisnett. At that time, murder crimes against Caucasians in Barbados seldom ever happened. The four men involved (David Oliver, Peter Bradshaw, Errol Bradshaw and Winston Hall) were all rounded up and sent to be tried in court.

On the morning of March 18th 1985 the unthinkable happened: Winston Hall and Errol Bradshaw escaped from the prison van in which they were being held. The Royal Barbados Police Force launched a massive manhunt. Twenty-eight days later, Errol Bradshaw’s mother, accompanied by a lawyer, returned Errol to the police while Hall remained at large.

What follows are tales of daring escapes and police chases as Hall seemed to be always one step ahead of the long arm of the law. Twice he was recaptured and twice he defied the odds by escaping maximum-security prison and fleeing to neighbouring Caribbean islands. Hall would become somewhat of a folk hero in Barbados where locals would speculate as to his whereabouts and spin incredible tales about how he was able to escape custody as often as he did while others could not.
