Persistent requests by stakeholders of the Barbadian entertainment industry to have that sector reopened have finally borne fruit. After seeing their lifeline being crippled due to rigid health and safety protocols implemented to curb the spread of the COVID- 19 virus, the green light was recently given by Prime Minister Mia Mottley for the resumption of events featuring live performances.
This breath of fresh air into an industry which was decimated by the pandemic has been heralded as a step in the right direction with party-goers gearing up for some much-needed merriment on the precipice of a new year.
On Tuesday night key industry stakeholders gathered in St Lawrence Gap on the south coast, the mecca for entertainment on the island, for the launch of Halo Ultra Lounge. The venue previously housed popular hot spots like the Ship Inn and Sugar Ultra Lounge. The open-air establishment, which is nestled in the middle of what was once considered the entertainment hub of the country, is the perfect venue for those who are craving a return to normalcy. The location exudes a modern vibe with patrons having the option to book a bubble booth to create their own safe space with bottle service included. Special Projects Coordinator Shane Archer assured, “We intend to bring extreme life back to the gap, we intend to have this place as the number one partying spot in the gap.”
