Jamaica’s Koffee & Popcaan, both previous two-times winners of the MOBO Awards, have each received two nominations in this year’s Awards. The pair have been nominated in the categories of ‘Best Reggae Act’ (where Popcaan won in 2015 & 2016) and ‘Best International Act’ where they will be competing with the likes of Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, Shenseea and more.
Other Jamaican artistes such as Buju Banton, Protoje and Lila Iké have also been nominated in the Best Reggae category.
The ‘Music of Black Origins’ (MOBO) Awards, has been in existence for over 20 years and has been labelled as one of the biggest annual music awards in the UK. However, after a two year hiatus with the last awards being held in 2017, this year’s awards is back and carded to take place on Wednesday 9th December, 2020 at 7:00 pm live on YouTube and will later be aired on BBC One.
