Meet A#keem, who hails from the island of Grenada where he’s no stranger on the entertainment scene. This urban artiste’s sound, though under the genre of reggae, has a Pop and a Hip-Hop touch to it. Driven by the need to inject positivity into others, he flexes his vocals on groovy beats and lets his music say it all. During his career, he’s been seen on different stages including that of the Pure Grenada Music Festival’s which he’s graced three times. Although music wasn’t in his life as far as family history goes, A#keem who started singing the poems he wrote for his girlfriend while in secondary school, is a long way away from those teenage love songs.
On the day he dropped into the E-Hub, he released his remix to Justin Bieber’s, ‘Peaches’, which he named ‘Mangoes’. The video which was shot in a day features him driving around with his Empress and them stopping at different spots.
Currently, A#keem’s gearing up to drop his EP, “True Story” which has (6) songs including an international collaboration with Grime rapper, Direman who hails from London. As for having a favorite track out of his lot; and trust me, he has a favorite, you’ll have to listen to check out the interview to find out!
A#keem, when he’s not on stage or creating music, he can be found either spearfishing, grabbing drinks, playing dominoes with the guys, or getting creative with his hands. Currently, however, when he’s out of the mix, he can be found working on the Elrida Estate which is his off-the-grid cabin project.
To stay updated with everything A#keem, be sure to follow him on Instagram and subscribe to his YouTube channel for new music.
