Ghanaian Dancehall & Reggae Singer, Shatta Wale’s brand new reggae album ‘Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica: The Reggae Collector’s Edition’ is officially out now on all streaming platforms.
The historic global compilation album features a star-studded line up of some of Jamaica’s Top Reggae & Dancehall artistes, from the likes of Beenie Man, Sizzla, Capleton, Peetah Morgan, Mojo Morgan, Vybz Kartel, Tommy Lee Sparta, Wayne Wonder, Elephant Man and more.
According to Loop, the album was produced by a collective that includes Contractor Music Group, Golden Child Records, Beatbopper Records, and Kohanim Records. Executive producer Sean ‘Contractor’ Edwards says that album is a high-intensity reggae vibe that is sure to captivate reggae lovers around the globe and continues to solidify the bridge that reggae joins between Africa and the Caribbean.
The Award-winning, Ghanaian-born producer and artiste, formerly known as ‘Bandana’ whose real name is Charles Nii Armah have been on the music scene for quite some time now. He has been recognized for his many achievements and outstanding contribution to the Reggae genre in Ghana and globally. In March 2018, Wale received the honoree award at the 37th Annual Chicago Music Awards (CMA) in conjunction with the 36th International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA). He also received an honoree award in May 2018, alongside Sizzla, Chronixx, Jah Cure, Sean Paul and Queen Ifrica at the Obaland Royal Awards in Nigeria. Wale is also well known for his performance in Beyoncé’s Lion King Album launched last year.
Shatta Wale shared that he feels so honoured to have fans from all over the world, especially in the Caribbean and considers people from the Caribbean to be his brothers and sisters because he feel connected to them. Also expressing that Africa is open and receptive to reggae music. With the first staging of the album two years ago hitting number one for four weeks straight on Billboard’s Number One album and then spending another nine weeks on Billboard’s Top 10.
