Nathan Deterville, more popularly known as “Infinate”, is a songwriter/recording artist/musician from the tropical seaside community of Anse la Raye, Saint Lucia. He is the son of musical and cultural stalwart and icon in St. Lucia, Petronilla Deterville, MBE.
This year Infinate has released two music videos: ‘The One’ featuring Michael Robinson, and the other ‘Unique’ which features Jozzy & Rashaad. In writing ‘The One’ Nathan expresses: “The world is full of beautiful girls, especially in these exotic Caribbean Island Locations (Saint Lucia). However, there is always that ONE….THE ONE…that captures our heart and connects with our soul!!”. These songs are currently receiving much airplay in Saint Lucia and are accumulating significant views on Youtube.
Infinate’s music is influenced by different genres, however, there is a distinct Reggae and R&B/Hip Hop undertone catalyzed by the years he spent living in Jamaica and North America. One of Infinate’s most recognized projects was “Bakara”; a collaboration with St. Lucian (Toronto-based) Hip-Hop artist, Kayo, produced by his brother International music producer, Johann “YogidaProducer” Deterville. Yogidaproducer has been credited for production work on Kehalni’s album “It Was Good Until It Wasn’t” and Soundtrack/Sound production for Sony’s “Spiderman: Miles Morales” video game for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.
Infinate also mentors youth in his community and helps groom them towards careers in the Music Industry. Music is a Journey to Infinate—a mission not a competition. It is one of the ways he will “live on” after death because music to him is Infinite.
Jab Jab, the mass of the downtrodden, the music of the simple man has now ascended into prominence and respectability on the carnival scene. Jab has been around since the origin of carnival, Jab Molassie in Trinidad and Jab Jab in Grenada.
