Fay Ann Lyons Shows Love to Mary J Blige at Swizz Beatz Birthday Party

Written by: Nekisha Neicy Cyrus

The Viqueen and Viking of Soca, Fay Ann Lyons, and Bunji Garlin partied with some of Hip Hop’s music royalty at Swizz Beatz 43rd Birthday party event.

In a few videos posted on their Instagram recently, Fay Ann Lyons is seen hugging and dancing with Mary J Blige, hailing her as the queen before posing for a photo with both Mary J Blige and French Montana. In another Bunji Garlin is seen chatting with Swizz Beatz.

According to Loop, it was said that Bunji Garlin even freestyled during the party when one of the DJ’s played the 2019 Road March song ‘Famalay’. The soca couple was among a handful of Caribbean artistes at the star-studded event including Jamaican singers Super Cat and Cham. Busta Rhymes, hip hop veteran rapper, who is also of Jamaican lineage was also in attendance even made a heartfelt speech highlighting the fact that the music of Jamaican artistes has influenced his music.

This sighting has fans wondering if a ‘Soca Verzuz’ may be in the making since Swizz Beatz is also the co-founder of the popular live stream Verzuz music platform in partnership with Timbaland. In 2020 after the icon Jamaican Verzuz between Beenie Man and Bounty Killer was held, soca lovers have been on a mission verbally petitioning for their own.

Swizz Beatz’s wife, Alicia Keys, who performed earlier that evening at the VMA’s was also in attendance.
