Denise “Saucy” Belfon Is Back With “Siddung N Ride” And Tiktok Challenge

Written by: Overtime Media

Tiktok challenge lovers and dancers alike, the latest dance challenge is here and it’s coming from none other than the ‘Wining Queen’ herself, Denise Belfon. Yes folks, trending Soca veteran, Denise “Saucy” Belfon is back with an instructive new single entitled “SiddungNRide” alongside newcomer, Ishmael “FlexBoss” Bailey. The pair released their spicy collaboration recently and are presently navigating through the morsel of a 2022 Carnival festival that’s happening in Trinidad and Tobago this coming week.

Rejuvenated with a trending song sample and a social media spike alongside Jamaican sensation, Shenseea, and US Phenom, Meg Thee Stallion, Belfon is happy to provide an opportunity for a new act from the next generation and thrilled to add her voice to another dancefloor and bedroom banger.
“Clearly this song is for adults and we know that my style has catered more for the appetites of grown folks, who like a bit of spice and excitement,” said Belfon.

Alongside a fresh-faced hustler and songwriter named Ishmael Bailey from Dibe, Long Circular, the cock-back and roll-it Queen from Pt Cumana, Carenage (and later Gonzales) scorches her legendary and distinctive vocals across a bouncy + bubblicious riddim backed up with rolling, rude-boy basslines.
“It makes you want to move and follow the instructions,” said Belfon about the song’s hardcore appeal. “That’s why I liked it when they first brought it to me. It’s not a passive kind of song at all. It has a strong energy and makes you want to dance and follow along…”
Produced by Duane “Ryce” Williams and Raveiel Parris and recorded mostly at the FreeWorld Music Studio, located on Church Street in St James, Port of Spain, “SiddungNRide” was also mixed and mastered by Martin “Mice” Raymond at Champion Sound Studio in St Anns.
This musical aphrodisiac of a track marks Bailey’s first entry into the Soca realm, after experiencing moderate success with his “Salt on de Weng” contribution, which became a zess sensation and a community slang a few years ago.
“I’ve always loved music and I’ve always been making music,” the 26-year-old talent explained. “Where I’m from we don’t have too many opportunities to record or to make music, so when I linked up with Ravi, I already had books of songs and ideas from singing and performing in school competitions and writing to riddims I would hear and like.. As soon as I sang the song for him, he said he could hear Denise Belfon’s voice on it and I said I wrote it with her in mind. I was genuinely surprised when he told me sometime after that she heard it and liked it and wanted to record it with me. It’s been a learning process and a dream come true ever since then…”

Belfon was instrumental in teaching Bailey how to voice his lyrics and phoned into the studio from her home in New York to guide and coach him as he recorded his vocals. Passionate about music and determined to look after his grandmother and baby sister, Bailey is grateful for the opportunity and optimistic about the future for soca music.
“This is our culture. Regardless of the circumstances. When the world opens back, hopefully, we could return to the full Carnival energy. Right now we should be really happy and grateful to be alive and to have survived, so we gonna celebrate a bit, but not too much… I’ve been dreaming and hoping for a break like this, but I understand this is just the beginning and there’s lots more work to be done for me to really breakthrough.”

Confident in the appeal of the song’s sexually-charged lyrics, upbeat melodies, and enticing instructions, Bailey and Belfon have just launched a social media challenge to help share and promote the song across the nation, the region, and the Diaspora. Participants can earn cool cash, merchandise, and other sponsored prizes, as long as they follow the instructions precisely and fans online vote their video entries into high visibility. Winners of the challenge may also be selected to appear in the music video for the song and the top entries will be posted on Belfon’s social media pages, where she has amassed several hundred thousand followers and fans.
“Soca music is all about coming together and having fun and being happy and content in life,” Belfon explained. “Well this song can definitely help people to come together (winks) and have fun together or apart and it should definitely make both the ladies and the men happy and content also!”
