Cardi B Staring At Possible Prison Time.

Written by: Lesandra Scott

Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, musically known as Cardi B is staring at possible prison time. The rapper who recently welcomed her second child last month with her husband and fellow rapper Offset is facing charges laid against her for a 2018 incident.  In the Queens Criminal Court, her fate is to be decided for ordering an attack on two bartenders and throwing bottles at them which then turned into a brawl.  This fight apparently broke out due to Cardi believing allegations that Offset slept with one of the two bartenders who, it turns out, are sisters.

Now, while Cardi B pled not guilty to charges of assault and reckless endangerment, she in the same breath chose not to plead guilty to the charges of third-degree assault.  She did this in exchange for a conditional discharge. However, if found guilty of this “conditional discharge”, the Press rapper is looking at a maximum of four years in jail.  After the brawling session in 2018; Cardi B was handed a restraining order in 2019 forcing her to apply distance and absolutely no contact between her and the bartender sisters who go by the names Jade and Baddie Gi.

With the possibility of jail time looming over her, aspects of her life can be directly affected such as her marriage and family especially bonding with her three-year-old daughter, Kulture, and her newborn son. Not to mention the possibility that her music will be put on pause. Also in the line of fire is the business side of things. As recent as September, she took on a new business venture by tapping into the food and beverage industry.  The Money rapper signed a partnership with Starco Brand to launch “Whipshots”, her very own alcohol-infused whipped cream. Said to contain 10% vodka and flexes three flavors: chocolate, caramel, and vanilla; the non-dairy vodka whipped cream has no release date as yet, though it is rumored to hit shelves in December.
