“Never judge a book by its cover”, well, the same applies to this musical brother. From his quiet nature, one will never think that from his lips would come the sound he makes and notes he takes. A#keem, who has been professionally treading his musical path since 2015, has on October 15th, released a musical assortment that speaks a language of love. Entitled, ‘When I’m With You”, it prioritizes a different shade of love that is difficult to observe in these times.
Upon hearing the uncompleted riddim for the track, A#keem immediately gravitated toward the combination of elements that made up its beat. Lyrics which were heavily inspired by what he felt from listening started flowing, which eventually got mixed and mastered by Vincentian Artiste and Producer, Roshik Mason of Mason Made Music. The result is the freshly minted, “When I’m With You”.
According to A#keem, “When I’m With You is a song that speaks of a rootsy type of love. A love that focuses not just on the physical aspects, but on mental and emotional maturity while enjoying the bliss of togetherness and adventure.” With this meaning, the video’s Director, Laura Alston, mirrored A#keem’s feelings in the video. The actors portraying the video couple, Nikita McIntyre and Marcus Croney, could be seen moving seamlessly, totally comfortable with each other as they make their way through bushes and towns.
The advance private screening of the visuals for “When I’m With You” was held on October 15th, 2020 at the Old Skool Pub. Among the list of attendees were a select handful of creatives and influencers from the local entertainment circuit. Featuring A#keem and his band ‘The Bright Side’, guests were given a Live Performance of a number of his originals including “Keep You Safe”, “Out My Shine”, “Away”, “Island Perspective”, and of course, the song of the night, “When I’m With You”.
Grooving along in that night’s crowd were some of Grenada’s artistes such as Sabrina Francis, Tamantha Chole, Jonathan Francis, Emily Rapier, and Laura Lisa.
‘When I’m With You’ is currently available on all Social Media platforms inclusive of Spotify and YouTube
