He goes by the stage name 5 Star Akil and is credited as one of the most consistent contemporary soca stars from Trinidad and Tobago. With popular hits like ‘Partier’, ‘Noise’, ‘Feel Right’, ‘To Meh Heart’ and ‘Different Me’ which are just a few of his crowd favorites whenever he performs. 5 Star Akil is now on a mission to take soca music internationally; he is the only soca act who will be performing at this year’s Music Wave Festival in Beijing, China. This year’s event will take place from May 24-26th and has been in existence for the past 13 years which started back in 2004.

When asked how he feels to be honored with this opportunity, he said that he is excited and definitely grateful for the opportunity to perform. Other Caribbean artistes who will be performing at the festival include Reggae artiste Junior Kelly from Jamaica and Soca artiste Julien Believe from The Bahamas.
