Reports are that Kanye West’s third listening event for his pending-for-release album “Donda” was lit. Seen on stage with Kanye West and a couple of his chosen ones was Jamaica’s very own ShenYeng boss, Shenseea; a recent signee to The Weeknd’s label “XO Records”. Also, in the celebrity mix which populated Chicago’s Soldier Field stadium were controversial acts Marilyn Manson (accused of assault and abuse) and DaBaby (facing cancel culture after he publicly made homophobic comments).
The stage was designed to mirror Ye’s childhood home. On the porch, Shenseea stood, dressed by Kanye: she donned an all-black, body-gripping fit, paired with black shades and to complete this look, a black trench coat. Not alone on the remade porch, her posse included Travis Scott, Larry Hoover Jr., Don Toliver though it became known that missing from the event were previously teased Kid Cudi and Jay-Z. Heard during the event, to the shock of many, was a collaborated single “Pure Soul(s)” which turns out to have been done by Kanye West, Roddy Rich, and Shenseea.
Kanye, in true Kanye fashion had two (far from surprising) notable moments which quickly got those in attendance excitedly talking. The first attention grabber of the night (and boy oh boy did it have a grip), was Kanye walking onto the stage while he was completely on fire. The second ‘woah-moment’ came immediately after he was on fire. While the song “No Child Left Behind” played, Kim Kardashian-West walked onto the stage and made a beeline towards Kanye in a white Balenciaga Couture wedding dress. This eyebrow-raising act comes after Kim recently made the announcement that she’ll be keeping the West surname, this she’s decided despite their divorce.
Kanye’s 10th studio album, “Donda”, named after his late mother is set for release on September 3rd, hopefully.
