CEH Sept 2021 New Reggae Releases Spotlights Jah Vinci’s ‘Eye Of The Storm’

Written by: David Lawrence

Ever since his departure from the Gaza empire (headed By Vybz Kartel), Jah Vinci has penned many songs with positive lyrics setting him apart from the trend today. Many of his songs regularly receive millions of views on Youtube. His latest release ‘Eye Of The Storm’ seems destined to be another.

Born in August Town, Kingston, Jamaica, Jah Vinci (real name Kirk Rhoden) grow up in a musical family with both parents being singers. Growing up, he was very active musically in Church where he performed at large events. In 2005 Vinci’s brother was killed in a violent crime, this became a motivating force in his life and would eventually steer the direction of his music.

In the beginning, Jah Vinci struggled to launch his musical career until he met up with Vybz Kartel who saw his talent and invested in him. In 2008 he burst on the dancehall scene with a collaboration with Vybz Kartel called “Weh Dem A Guh”. However, in 2011 he decided to use his music to create positive change in Jamaica’s inner cities and beyond and left the Gaza empire to start his own brand ‘Out Clear Movement’. His many hits thus far include “Heart Too Clean”, “In My Life”, “Mama Love”, Nobody Knows (Where Do Angels Go), and ” Affi Mek It” all containing positive lyrics.
