As the new soca releases continues to roll in, we spotlight a soca king who needs no introduction when it comes to soca music. Known as the Viking of Soca, Ian ‘Bunji Garlin’ Alvarez has given us many soca classic over the years and to date still continues to add to his already incomparable soca repertoire.
With or without carnival in 2021, good soca music shall prevail and the Viking’s latest release ‘Heart of the People’ is clearly for the people and with the people in mind. This smooth, groovy soca track will have you feeling a bit bittersweet as it fills you up with nostalgia of memories from carnival past.
The song is featured on the White Gold Riddim and produced, mixed and mastered by Bass Ink Productions. And of course it is written by the lyrical genius himself or maybe he just freestyled from beginning to end…because he just bad like that.
