CEH August 2023 Reggae New Releases Spotlights German-born Patrice Bart Williams

Written by: Adela Scotland

The month of August has come in blazing with hot new releases from the reggae community. Several artists have released new music, with distinct sounds and messages. With all this competition, the artist that has produced the song we think that EVERYONE will be talking about is Patrice Bart Williams, a German-born reggae artist and music producer. His latest single called “Stamina” is a fusion of reggae, soul, and R&B in which he sings about the resilience and power of coloured people.
Williams was born in 1979 in Cologne Germany to parents of German and Sierra Leonean descent. From an early age, Williams was exposed to the unique sounds of the Caribbean archipelago and African continent. By the age of 12, Patrice was playing the guitar and composing his own songs. The sound of his music was heavily influenced by reggae, skate culture, and punk music. He formed a band called Bantu, and in 1999 with the help of producer Matthias Arfmann, he released “Lions,” his first EP. Later that year, he was included in Lauren Hills’ European leg of her Miseducation tour. Throughout his career, Williams has released a total of 11 albums and 33 singles. His knack for fusing different sounds together is strong throughout all his releases especially his latest track, “Stamina which is the perfect song to keep you motivated all month long.

Along with Stamina here are 10 other songs that we think are worth giving a listen to this month!
